We’ve been planning this class for a while now and finally I have a group.  We will learn everything from scratch. You will learn;

Essential Oil in Baking

Saturday October 12th 2 to 5 pm

We hear so much about the good of essential oils and many uses, but seldom in anything baked or cooked. This class will be conducted by Joe Bell who is a Diamond Leader of doTerra Essential oils. You will learn;

  1. Apple Cobbler
  2. Chocolate Brownies

There will be a question and answer session after the class, so you can further learn about the uses of essential oils.

Cakes for Diwali

Sunday October 13th 11 to 2 pm

Learn to make Sujee Cake and Fruit Cake for Diwali.  The fruit cake is something new I was toying with the other day.

You will learn;

  1. Traditional Sujee Cake
  2. Semi Rich Fruit Cake

Fruit Cake contains alcohol.

Indian Sweet Class

Saturday 19th October  11 to 2 pm

Learn to prepare three Indian Sweets.  I learnt this in India and had to perfect it before teaching it again. You will be using pure ghee for this class.

Indonesian Layer Cake – Kek Lapis

Sunday 20th September 2 to 5 pm

A class many will term as tedious but then enjoy the fruits of their labor.  You will learn to prepare this cake from scratch.

November and December 2018 Baking and Cooking Classes

I will be starting my Christmas Classes this month as I am usually busy most of next month.  We will start with a Eurasian Christmas Favorite on Sunday. But first we will start with breads, because breads go with Christmas foods like Roasted Turkey and Roasted Leg of Lamb and good old Roasted Chicken.

As you know I am part Eurasian, hence where the craziness and zaniness comes from.  Eurasian style of cooking is different from home to home depending on the mix of parentage. So you will learn something spicy, something a little spicy and something mild.

Mum’s old recipes from the early 80s. Now that Yus is not around, Mum cooks.  So she surprised us all with this and I thought it was rather class worthy. Do expect her to be around making a busy body.  This I will not consider very Indian, it has a local touch to it.

 

And Mum made it herself….. so it is simple.

Please bring your favorite kinds of toppings that you might like to place on your cake, that way you can take home a cake everyone will enjoy. Cake is around 7 in wide and about 8 inches high

November 2015 Cooking and Baking Classes

October was a busy busy month with almost every week being a private class. This is the first time it has ever happened and it even spilled over into my weekends, hence I just couldn’t do any weekend classes.

I also have a restaurant project or two in Kota Kinabalu so for the next few months I will be flying over there to over see and help my clients who I might add is my student, whom a few of you might know, who comes to class and makes a bit of unbelievable chaos with the ladies before he leaves.

I hope November will be a good for everyone so we can catch up.  I am starting the month on the 31st of October with everyone’s favorite Pineapple Tarts.

A favorite of every festive in Malaysia. Learn to make two types of pineapple tarts.

A lot of people have been grumbling about the prices of Murukku some paid RM80 a tin and some pain RM100 a tin. So I think you should learn it.  I prefer my Murukkus in pieces as it is easier to pick up and eat little by little.
