Friands are not very common here in Malaysia and the places that sell it sell it very expensive because it is usually gluten free, or very little flour is added.  We will learn;

New Recipe for the Month of July

Famous Malacca Mee Bodoh

Sunday July 2nd  2.30 to 4.30

A dish only found in one place in Malacca and people line up for this fried noodles each morning in Malacca.

You might think the name is off putting but wait till you taste it. People line up just for the fried egg. And if you come after 7.30 am, the wait for your fried egg might be 20 to 30 minutes long.

You will learn;

  1. Sambal Mee Bodoh
  2. Mee Bodoh
  3. Spicy Fried Egg
  4. Spicy Roasted Chicken Thigh – Added this as it goes well.

Each student will fry their own noodles and fried egg to take home along with their Roasted Chicken Thigh  .

Nasi Lemak Kukus

December 2015 Cooking and Baking Classes

This month will be a very heavy month with work for my big my KK Restaurant project.  Next week I have my young chefs coming in for training.  A Motley Crew of Cooks who I handpicked from many candidates.   So this month after nearly 9 years of Christmas classes, I can only hold two or three sessions.

The first will be my Fruit Cake Class which I will hold twice and a Roast Turkey Class just a week or so before Christmas.

Ways with Eggs

A simple class that is often requested and I always seem to ignore. This changed when I did a few private classes and realized many didn’t know how to do these eggs properly.  Eggs are Easy and Eggs can be eaten for Breakfast, Lunch and Tea and Dinner if you wish!

  3. Baked Eggs – Seems to be a craze as a One-Bowl-Wonder!

This was a challenge. My friend gave me a photo of a very In Fashion now cake and I did it.  You will learn to make;

  2. Cream Cheese Topping – This is not so easy as I found out Twice… once because I was texting and the other, I was trying to multitask. Full concentration is needed.

Old Fashioned Butter Cake

Let’s make Old Fashioned Butter Cake and Butter Icing

You will also learn to do some basic decoration like spreading icing, piping the sides and covering borders on your own cake.

This is a hands on session. The old fashion way to make this is by using a spoon.  So we will be doing it the traditional way.
